Lita Kharmai Helps Arrange Surgery for
Young Burn Victim from Guyana______________________________________
More Surgery Scheduled for 5-Year-old.

When he was just 2-years old, Asalim Khan,
from Guyana, South America, was burned so
badly, his eyelids would no longer close. For
three years Asalim was unable to blink or even
close his eyes to sleep.

When Lita Kharmai, from our Benefits Department
was in Guyana arranging surgery in the U.S. for
another child, she met Asalim and felt a calling to
get help for him as well. Lita says "With God's help
, he is here getting the medical care he needs."

Asalim had surgery to replace his eyelids on July 22. After he recovers from that surgery, he'll undergo reconstructive surgery to repair his facial burns.
Lita thanks everyone involved, from those who arranged the flight here, to the surgeon and host family from Rockford.

Thank you, Lita. Your concern, compassion and determination are simply amazing.
