On Monday, September 14, 2009, CCM received this e-mail from Blessing's dad, Jerry Brown:

It has been a long time since we mention something about little Blessing. She is doing fine and growing stronger everyday. Praise the Lord for all His benefits.  Blessing started making statements about a month ago. She now makes request for things, making complaint when made angry by other kids.. She is very rough when playing, something that frightens me often. Perharps because she is growing up with a boy.

We have been trying to toilet train her over the past four months and she is responding gradually. She has learned her first memory verse, Jn. 11:35, sings the letters or the alphabet, and recites the alphabet to the letter N. This is her second week of school. She celebrated her 3rd birth anniversary in July. We collected many pictures hoping to have them mailed someday but our loggage was stolen recently when I travel to Liberia in June and all our cameras were taken away.

She has not had any major illness in recent time besides occasional constipation and rhinitis. She loves the weather here because it is ofthe cold. As usual Blessing is loved by everyone who sees her. Thanks again for all your assistance in making Blessing what she is today. Please forward the mail to others if possible and extend our greetings to everyone. Please see attached blessing recent photo one week ago her first day of school.

Bye for now wishing you all a lots of blessings.

Jerry F. Brown.

Blessing's Story
Quick Links
Blessing Brown, DOB 7/2006, arrived in the USA/Kalamazoo Michigan on Nov 9, 2007 for surgery at Bronson Hospital. Dr. Downing created an anus on Nov 21, 2007.
She stayed with Lisa and Dave Trumbull
and their six children in Kzoo.. She had a
imperforated Anus.  It was successful, she
will be going home on April 5, 2007. Dr.
Downing will be escorting her to Liberia,
Africa. He will be preaching and teaching
while he is there.

Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Downing,
Lisa and Dave Trumbull, James and Sara
Nowell, Mary and Dave Plantinga, their
families, and friends in the USA, the money
was successfully raised for Blessing’s
surgery. Bronson Hospital and most ancillary groups provided their services at half price.

We are all grateful that God brought Blessing Brown in our lives, that we were able to share HIS love with this child. Her surgery was successful Proverbs 3:27 “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.”
I learned about Blessing from an email I received from Dr. Emmanuel Eykinabah three weeks prior to our departure for Baby Isaac Kolleh whose surgery was donated by Dr. Downing and Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Praise God for Blessing Brown’s return to Liberia, Africa. She arrived in the USA on November 9, 2006 and departed to Liberia on April 5, 2007. She stayed with her host family Lisa and Dave Trumbull of Kalamazoo Michigan. Blessing had anal reconstructive surgery (she did not have an anus- imperforated anus).

Blessing when she arrived.
